The population of LGBT people in the US

Hi, I’m Mizuki.
Today, I'm going to talk about the population of LGBT people in the US.
According to UCLA School of Law, Williams Institute, about 4.5 % of the American adults identified themselves as LGBT. About 60% of them are female, 60% are white and over 70% are not raising children.

Also, District of Colombia is ranked No.1 of the percentages of LGBT people.
Almost 10% of the population of there are LGBT.

In 2012, the survey showed 3.5% (Newport, 2018) of American adults are LGBT, in 2015, 3.9% and in 2017, 4.5%. This isn’t just mean the population of LGBT people are increasing. I think as the society becomes more tolerant to LGBT people, people begun to accept themselves as a sexual minority.
